Celebrating Baptism

"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." – Romans 6:4 (NKJV)

Baptism is not just a ceremony—it is a sacred celebration of a life forever changed. It’s both a picture and a proclamation: that the old life has been washed away, and a new life in Christ has begun.

In the water, we see the symbol of Christ’s own death, burial, and resurrection. When we go under, it signifies dying to sin and self—leaving behind the guilt, shame, and darkness of our past. When we rise out of the water, it declares that, in Christ, we are raised to live a new life filled with His Spirit, His grace, and His purpose.

Baptism is also a public testimony. It tells the world, “I belong to Jesus.” It’s a joyful declaration that our identity is rooted not in our failures, accomplishments, or labels, but in the finished work of Christ.

Today, as you witness or remember your own baptism, let it be a reminder: the same power that raised Jesus from the grave is alive in you. Your baptism was the starting line, not the finish line. From this day forward, you are called to “walk in newness of life,” guided by the One who has promised never to leave you.
