God Remembers

Have you ever felt stuck—waiting, praying, wondering if your story is ever going to move forward? Joseph knew that feeling. Genesis 40 finds him in prison, even though he’d done nothing wrong. He helps people—interprets the cupbearer's and baker’s dreams—and asks to be remembered, but he’s forgotten. Still stuck. Still waiting.
Here’s what moves me: Even in that dark place, Joseph didn’t stop caring about others. He noticed when the people around him were down and offered encouragement, along with his God-given gift of interpretation. He admitted right away, “Do not interpretations belong to God?” (Gen. 40:8)—pointing the credit upwards, never taking it for himself.
Sometimes we do everything right, serve well, and yet it seems like no one sees us. Maybe your kindness goes unnoticed, your hard work unrewarded, or your prayer still feels unanswered. But Genesis 40 reminds us: God sees you, even when the world forgets. Your gifts still matter. Your character still counts. And even in the waiting, God is working behind the scenes for a greater purpose—just like He was for Joseph.
So if you’re waiting today or feeling forgotten, hang on. Keep using your gifts. Keep showing kindness. God’s timing is always better, and your story isn’t over yet.
