Unwrapping Christmas

When we truly unwrap Christmas, we see God. When we see God for who He really is, it changes our life. Isaiah sees the Lord “high and exalted,” the train of His robe filling the temple, angels calling, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” In that moment, Isaiah is completely undone. He sees God’s holiness and his own brokenness all at once.
Christmas is that same holy God stepping into our broken world as a baby in a manger. The God of Isaiah 6 doesn’t stay distant on a throne—He comes near.
Jesus is the gift we could never earn and could never wrap:
Forgiveness for our sin
Peace in the middle of our chaos
Hope that outlives every disappointment
Just like Isaiah responded, “Here am I. Send me!” Christmas is our chance to respond,
“Here I am, Lord. I receive Your gift. Use my life for Your glory.”
If you’re feeling unworthy, overwhelmed, or just a little empty this season, remember:
The Holy God who shook the temple in Isaiah 6 is the same loving Savior who lay in a manger for you. He sees you. He loves you. And He still invites you closer.
If you don’t have a church home, we’d love for you to be part of ours at New Hope Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill (www.newhopetunnelhill.com).
Join us for worship every Sunday at 11:00 AM.
And you’re especially invited to our Christmas Cantata on December 14th at 11:00 AM—come experience the story of Jesus, the true Gift of God, in music and worship.
There’s a place for you at New Hope this Christmas
